Yay for short chapters.

Breakdown Ch. 2 & Tanikamen Ch. 0
2019 wasn't a particularly great year for Dumbnut. While there were some highlights (notably catching up on Cestvs, alongside finishing Survival and Getter) total releases were significantly down, with the last few months especially being rather light on releases. In part this has been because of external factors (MangaDex's troubles the last few weeks haven't exactly inspired me to do much work) but at the same time a lot of it probably comes down to burnout; 1000 or so releases in five years is a large amount for any group, even more so when it's just the two of you.
Whether or not 2020 will end up similarly remains to be seen, but if nothing else I'll hopefully be able to finish up a lot of my lingering projects.
At any rate we start the year with the much belated second chapter of Breakdown. I'd done the TL for this months back but QCing 90 pages is a long and arduous process. Latter chapters shouldn't take as long (hopefully).
And then we've something new with Tanikamen. In case the art didn't quite give it away this is Shibata's debut work from 1993, and follows the titular Tani as he tries to woo the girl of his dreams. It was originally 12 volumes long, though after the success of Shibata's followup work, Air Master, it was reprinted in six, which is the version I'll be working from.
While 10 chapters were done by other groups I'll be starting this from scratch because that's how I do things; given how short the chapters are we should catch up in no time at all anyway. The initial translators also missed an early pun (on page 12 Tani says hitomebore which can mean love at first sight, though bore is also how the Japanese write volley, hence my love at first spike) which is a good a reason as any for me to re-translate.
While I'm here I guess I should also mention that that Somali and Guru Guru are dropped; the former having been licensed, while the latter's been taken over by someone else. Granted it's not like I've released either of them in months.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw: reflesh Ch. 10-12
I'd like to pretend there was a good reason for these chapters taking as long as they did but there really wasn't (much to my editor's annoyance).
In fact it's been so long that the final chapter, 13, has actually been published, with the second and last volume due out in just over a week. From the outset I figured the series wouldn't necessarily be too long a project so it didn't come as too much of a shock, but I obviously wouldn't have complained if it had gone on longer.
At any rate 13 shouldn't take as long, I'll also check to see if the volume contains anything new (though chances are it won't).

Eko Eko Azarak Ch. 76
And that's another volume done. As ever there'll be a short break before work begins on volume nine, so look forward to something else (possibly) in the meantime.
In unrelated news Blue Striker finished recently and should end up with four total volumes. Probably a sign I should get back to it.
The guys at Golden Roze also released two chapters of Mr. Clice recently, which I did the TL for a few years back (though they've since found a replacement TL so I won't be doing any more).

Eko Eko Azarak Ch. 74
One of the two chapters I'd skipped out on previously though it's still missing the cover page, so I'll be re-uploading it once I get a hold of that. Only one more actual chapter left for the volume now!
In unrelated news I picked up the last volume of Getter and was surprised to find that the final chapter had had a fair amount of redraws, and there was at least one earlier bit where some of the exposition had been expanded. Won't be re-scanning anything so a good a reason as any to go and pick up the official release when it's out I guess.

Eko Eko Azarak Ch. 75 & Ch. 77
Something of an awkward release this week. I'd promised that, to make up for me skipping a week of Azarak, I would do a double release at some point. Unfortunately I had to skip a couple of chapters due to missing pages, so we've ended up with 75 and 77 (which is also the last chapter in volume eight) though of course it doesn't really matter for Azarak.
Truth be told I would've been fine just doing 74 as it's only missing the title page, but I'd rather try and avoid needing to re-upload pages where possible.
