Biohazard: Heavenly Island Ch. 50 [End]
And thus it ends. After five volumes, 50 chapters and who knows how many wasted months spent on hiatus we've at least reached the finale of Heavenly Island.
While I won't ever claim that it was a horror masterpiece or anything it was certainly a series which amused me and I'm glad to have been able to see it through to the end. As a die hard Resident Evil fan it was also nice to actually see Claire in something for a change, what with Capcom seemingly wanting to give up on the old cast and all.
Looking back it's quite amusing to think that the second series which I started should end up being the second one I actually manga to finish (no Another Story doesn't count). If nothing else it's proven a good learning experience, and it's quite scary comparing earlier chapters to my current releases. I wouldn't mind at some point redoing the whole lot, but that's the sort of low priority thing which can wait for another time.
Having finished one long standing project the question may be asked as to what I plan to do next. The answer is, well, nothing. As it stands I've a good 60~ volume backlog anyway (not counting the series which I help other groups out on) so I don't imagine I'll be starting anything lengthy for some time. I also don't intend on doing the Marhawa Desire either so you needn't ask for that.
At any rate major thanks to my editor, Nady, for doing most of the hard work on the final three volumes and to elemhunter for helping with the digital raws. If you enjoyed the series and wanted to put your money where your mouth is, so to speak, then you can easily import the volumes via somewhere like Amazon, or get digital copies from sites like eBookJapan.

Biohazard: Heavenly Island Ch. 41 & Yuzumori-san Ch. 7.1-7.3, 7.5 & 14
Another sort of weird release today.
First up we've chapter 41 of Heavenly Island, only nine chapters left now!
And then we've got a few bits and pieces from Yuzumori.
First and foremost we have chapter 14 from a few weeks back.
Then we've 7.1, which is the bonus chapter from the first volume.
Alongside that there's 7.2 and 7.3, which were the two small, bonus chapters which came from select stores alongside the volume release. The scans for these were actually Chinese, not Japanese. If someone happens to have the original Japanese scans floating around I'd be more than happy to redo it from them, but I figure this is probably a case wherein beggars can't be choosers.
And then we've 7.5 which is the second of the two short promotional bits Ejima did prior to the release of the first volume.
Phew, hopefully that's the last of these big, multiple chapter uploads.
At any rate the next chapter's out this Sunday.

Survival Ch. 76 & Survival: Another Story Vol. 1 [End]
I mentioned last time that this release of Survival would be a little different, so here we are.
First up is chapter 76 of the main story.
And then we've the entirety of the side story, Survival: Another Story.
Contrary to what's written down in some places (I'm looking at you MAL) this isn't actually a sequel, rather it's a mini-arc of its own which takes place between chapters 76 and 77 of the original story, hence why I'm releasing it now.
It was originally published as part of the main series, and it's wholly included as part of the original print of the manga, though every later reprint has kept it as its own separate thing.
I've not been able to find any definite reason as to why it was split off, though a few comments online felt that it might've been due to the rather different tone of the arc. As someone who finds it to be the weakest arc in Survival I can certainly sympathise with such arguments, if nothing else it's quite clear that Saito somewhat fluffed the delivery on it (it's about nine chapters buildup, two chapters resolution) but more Survival is always good anyway.
Many thanks go to my editor, Nady, for his help in all of this, and if you wanted for some reason to buy the volume on its own, there are plenty of physical copies on places like Amazon, and it's available on sites like eBookJapan digitally.

Biohazard: Heavenly Island Ch. 39-40
Yuzumori will be a little while longer yet, but for the time being here's the beginning of the end of Heavenly Island; only 10 chapters remain.
The zombie jammers were another element which featured in Umbrella Corps amusingly enough. Considering how the game sold in Japan I'm not sure Capcom's cross-promotion really paid off.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Ch. 45
If you missed my post last time then Chainsaw's due to end with it's next published chapter in Japan (for a total of 89 chapters) which means that, with this release, we'll have 44 chapters remaining.
If Mikamoto starts anything new up in Comic Beam (or elsewhere) I'll probably look into doing it, unless it's outright bad.
I also finally got around to looking at the Yuzumori bonus chapter stuff, so you can probably expect that to be up next.

Kentou Ankokuden Cestvs Ch. XL & Survival Ch. 75
A double bill today.
First up we have chapter XL of Cestvs. With this we bring the fifth volume to an end, which also means we're 1/3 of the way through the series; only 10 volumes (and the sequel) remain.
And then we've chapter 75 of Survival. The next release will be a little different, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
In unrelated news it was confirmed that next month's chapter of Chainsaw (due out around the 11th of March) will be the last, and that volume 13 (out a short while after it) will mark the end of the series. The series has felt as though it were heading to a conclusion for a while now so it doesn't come as a massive shock, though it's always bittersweet when one of your favourite series ends. At least we've still 45 chapters remaining.
Kentou Ankokuden Cestvs Ch. XXXIX
One chapter left for the volume.
Contrary to appearances I have been working on some stuff which isn't Cestvs, though it'll be a while yet.

Kentou Ankokuden Cestvs Ch. XXXVIII
Two chapters left for the volume.
I was reading an old Japanese blog post on Cestvs and saw a rather amusing comment wherein the author lamented the pace of the series and compared it to Hunter × Hunter, Akagi and the boat ride in Berserk. With the latter over and Akagi now due to finish next year I guess it'll be a race between Wazarai and Togashi to see who can actually make it through a whole volume's worth of content first. Though it's times like this where it's not too bad being so far behind the Japanese release.

Survival Ch. 74
This was meant to be Chainsaw but such is the way things go. We're now over halfway through the volume (chapter wise), with only nine chapters remaining.
In other news two chapters of things I helped out on also popped up today: the first being Yamagarasu, a super short one-shot I helped the guys at Habanero Scans with, and the second being the first chapter of Mr. Clice, a gender bender spy story from the guy who wrote Kochikame which I did with the guys over at Golden Roze Scans. With any luck the latter will become something of a permanent fixture so you can expect more in the future (and I am in fact halfway through TLing the second chapter as we speak).
Kentou Ankokuden Cestvs Ch. XXXVII
So here's chapter XXXVII of Cestvs, three left for the volume.
In other news the final Heavenly Island came out today (no extra chapters or anything from the looks of it) so you can probably expect that to start being released again within a week or so.

Survival Ch. 73
This chapter seemed to take ages even if it's about a mid-sized one for the series.

Kentou Ankokuden Cestvs Ch. XXXVI
So first up here's chapter XXXVI of Cestvs. With it we're now halfway through the volume (we're also past all of the bizarre sex scenes which is a plus too).
In other news the final chapter of Heavenly Island came out yesterday. I only skimmed over it but there didn't appear to be any actual ties to Resident Evil 7, though something could always be added in the volume release.
While on the topic the third volume of Somali has been dated for early March, so we'll see if I can catch up in time for that.
