Shoujo Kessen Orgia Ch. 2

We break the string of double releases today with just a single chapter of Orgia in which we get a wonderful mix of fairly bloody violence and fairly lengthy exposition. As you've probably noticed by now the series makes use of a fair amount of specific words and phrases, which means I may end up having to reword a few things depending on how later chapters use them.

I've been busy with work recently so things will probably be quite slow for the next few weeks. I've TLed the second chapter of Azarak though and am slowly editing it, while the next chapter of Survival is also mostly cleaned and starting to be translated. I  also finally bit the bullet and had the third volume of Heavenly Island ordered, so you may well see a chapter of that at some point in the coming months.

Next release though should be a toss up between Chainsaw, Azarak and Survival depending on how things go.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Ch. 8 & Survival: Shounen S no Kiroku Ch. 1

It's another double bill, of sorts, today.

First up is chapter eight of Chainsaw, wherein the poor ninja squad are fairly quickly finished off.

Next is something sorta new, but sorta not. In case the name didn't give it away, Survival: Shounen S no Kiroku is indeed related to our other series Survival, being a modern remake of Saito's original.

I was offered the raws for it and, as they're all fairly short, figured I might as well drop the odd chapter for it here and there. It's quite amusing if nothing else to compare it to the original.

At present it's just got the one volume out, no idea how many chapters it has nor how long it'll last (presumably it won't quite match the original in length) but we'll see.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Ch. 7 & Survival Ch. 17

And yet again a double release, apparently we're on a roll at the moment.

First up is the start of volume two of Chainsaw. Aside from wrapping up last time's business, a few new (soon to be) recurring characters pop up, and the next lot of zombies for Geeko to slaughter arrive too.

In the chapter itself there's a fairly irritating pun in the snail's name, Usokawamaimai, which I didn't end up explaining much. The first part to it is that the name is fairly similar sounding to thin shelled snail (usui kara maimai), hence the later description in the box.

The other part is that it the first section of the name sounds like uso (no) kawa, which is a Japanese phrase about a complete and utter lie. The latter section, maimai, can also be used to mean every time/occasion. So it's basically taking a jab at those complete and utter fabrications which you see used to always conveniently cover lewd scenes. Or at least, that's what I got from it. Who knows with Japanese puns.

Following on from those ever benign wordplays, we have chapter 17 of Survival. In which we see the wonders of Satoru's magically appearing bear pelt.

The next chapter of this is another one with over 100 pages, so expect a bit of a delay to it (especially as my editor for it is looking to do some work on Orgia next). In other news I received the higher quality scans for Azarak, so I can begin working on that again myself now. As ever we shall see what ends up being done first though.

Survival Ch. 16

Another day, another chapter of Survival.

As this is the start of a new volume the count resets to one. No idea why they bother to renumber it, but such is the ways of manga publication I guess.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Ch. 6 & Survival Ch. 15

And, for the second time in one week we have a set of double releases. Today's releases both mark the ends of their respective volumes, which is why I was keen to get them both out at once.

First up then is Chainsaw, in which we see something of the conclusion to last chapter's fight.

Shoujo Kessen Orgia Ch. 1 & Somali to Mori no Kami-sama Ch. 4

After a week of work work work it's time for a double release. Today sees the release of something new, and also the long awaited fourth chapter of Somali!

First up then is chapter one of the all new Shoujo Kessen Orgia (the English title of which is given as Hyper Girls Battle Orgia). This was one of the volumes which I ordered several months back, and was actually picked out of a couple of choices by my QC/editor (who also did all the hard work editing/typesetting the chapter itself).

As the name suggests, the focus of Orgia is on a series of fairly bloody fights held between a group of high school girls representing various sorcery associations, though as one might expect there's also some cutesy SoL stuff in alongside it.

At present there's two volumes. Releases will hopefully be fairly quick for it, but we shall of course see.

Next then is chapter four of Somali. This chapter sees the conclusion to the mini-story introduced in chapter three. It also means there's only two chapters left of the volume! Volume two hasn't actually been released yet, though chapter 11 did release quite recently in Japan so it's presumably coming. Whatever the case it'll probably be a bit of a wait for it.

Up next will likely be Survival. I've actually had the whole thing translated and cleaned for a while, so it shouldn't take too long to get out. For now, enjoy the double release.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Ch. 5

Sorta eager to get the whole volume done so finished this one up fairly quickly.

Chapter five of Chainsaw shows you the dangers of being the childhood friend. It also has a fairly lewd opening, though the series is about as far from SFW as it gets normally anyway.

Next up will actually be Somali.

Survival Ch. 13

I know I previously mentioned Somali, but in what can only be described as a wonderful week of productivity chapter 13 of Survival has ended up being finished first. The real thanks for this release should go to my editor, who got all 100 pages of this stupidly long chapter done while I was busy working all week.

As you might expect given the length of the chapter a whole range of topics are covered, from global warming in the 70s to the terror of whirlpools at sea. There's also a few fairly obvious cut points, where the chapter was (presumably) compiled into one from smaller chapters. Quite why they decided to push it all as one larger chapter in this version is still beyond me.

For the next few weeks I'll probably be fairly busy with work, but should hopefully be able to keep up with regular(ish) releases. At least things will be easier now with the following Survival chapters all being a lot shorter.
