Still slowly trucking away at things but here's two more chapters of Gekikou. Chapter 10 came out a few days ago in Japan but public raws are still stuck at chapter seven, so we're either two or five chapters behind depending on how you want to look at things. These two chapters do have some elements which people might find in poor taste, but none of the latter chapters have had anything similar (at least thus far).
Somewhat coincidentally, today also saw the release of the manga's first volume (which goes up to chapter eight). I picked it up and was surprised to find it it has perhaps the greatest number of changes I've ever seen made in a volume release (at least for a series I've worked on). The volume itself is 280~ pages long and maybe a fifth of those pages had had some quite noticeable edits made to them. Most manga authors these days will make minor changes when it comes to the volume release (Ejima and Mikamoto would add the odd bits of screentone for instance) but in Gekikou whole paragraphs were rewritten and a number of pages were redrawn completely.
Chances are I won't ever get do a proper version from scans of the volume, but the one textual error that I pointed out in chapter one was fixed so I'll go back to change that at some point. There are also a few other minor textual changes that I might make (for instance the weight of Zenopadon's head was reduced), but we'll see how much effort I feel like putting in.
