It's been a while but, given my recent good progress, I figured I could add something new into my ever random mix of manga series.
This then is Kaiten-One the latest work from one of my favourite manga authors, Yokusara Shibata. If you don't know Shibata he's best known for two fairly long running series: Air Master and 81diver. If you've never read them, or any of his other stuff, he's a very funny guy with a very unique style and someone who always makes for an interesting read.
Till recently he had been working on two series: Youkai Banchou in Evening (which I had been reading and intending to work on at some point) and Premax in Young Jump, though he ended both of them a few weeks back before beginning work on Kaiten. Interestingly enough Kaiten is being positioned as something of a reboot of Youkai Banchou; there's some crossover in characters (the three girls on the cover spread featured in the previous series) but given that Kaiten is essentially a do-over I don't expect you'll need any real knowledge of Banchou (think Shonan Junai Gumi! to GTO), though I would still like to TL it at some point.
At any rate we'll see how things go with Kaiten, if nothing else it'll certainly be a wacky ride and if it ends up spoiling Youkai Banchou or something I'll see about rushing through a TL of that.
