Gekikou Kamen Ch. 4-5

Still slowly trucking away at things but here's two more chapters of Gekikou. Chapter 10 came out a few days ago in Japan but public raws are still stuck at chapter seven, so we're either two or five chapters behind depending on how you want to look at things. These two chapters do have some elements which people might find in poor taste, but none of the latter chapters have had anything similar (at least thus far).

Somewhat coincidentally, today also saw the release of the manga's first volume (which goes up to chapter eight). I picked it up and was surprised to find it it has perhaps the greatest number of changes I've ever seen made in a volume release (at least for a series I've worked on). The volume itself is 280~ pages long and maybe a fifth of those pages had had some quite noticeable edits made to them. Most manga authors these days will make minor changes when it comes to the volume release (Ejima and Mikamoto would add the odd bits of screentone for instance) but in Gekikou whole paragraphs were rewritten and a number of pages were redrawn completely.

Chances are I won't ever get do a proper version from scans of the volume, but the one textual error that I pointed out in chapter one was fixed so I'll go back to change that at some point. There are also a few other minor textual changes that I might make (for instance the weight of Zenopadon's head was reduced), but we'll see how much effort I feel like putting in.

Gekikou Kamen Ch. 1

Guess I'm not dead yet? And with something new to boot! Of all the stuff I've released this might possibly be the most niche, as I can't imagine there's much interest in weirdly focused tokusatsu theory, but I've been enjoying it thus far and I like the author.

This chapter was actually more or less done when it first released (i.e. four months ago) but, well, I've been lost to the void that is Elden Ring, various BL VNs and so on...

The intention is to catch up with magazine releases (it's currently up to chapter eight) which should be doable as it's bi-weekly and normally only 20 or so pages, I just need to get past these next few that are a tad longer.

I should also really get back to Cestvs and such, but there's never much need to rush on that front.

Kendo Shitouden Cestvs Ch. 104

It's New Year's Eve and what better way to welcome in the New Year than how we started it, with a chapter of Cestvs. I'd actually endeavoured to get this chapter done on time (i.e. two months ago) but wasn't able to sort out proper raws until a few days back. A good lesson I suppose in actually trying. It does however mean that there's "only" a week to go until 105, assuming there's no sudden break or anything.

As a whole 2021's been a fairly scant year for releases. While I did really enjoy The Moon (and was able to finally get the one Gundam series out) a lot of my other projects have rather badly stalled (although it seems someone finished off Search and Destroy a few months back so that's one less worry). Hopefully 2022 will be better on that front, I'm certainly looking to be more aggressive with both new and old series.

Char to Amuro to Oi to: Yasuragi no Chihei e Vol. 1 [Redo]

It's been a quiet few weeks and to be honest I've not actually done much TL work on anything else, but here's a full batch of sorts for the Gundam stuff. There's a few TL changes, and I did some very quick, fairly shoddy redraws as well, but overall it's more or less the same as the individual releases, albeit marginally easier to DL.

I did at last take the opportunity to upload it all to MangaDex as well, though it's still more of a pain to upload things there than it should be. Hopefully I'll be able to get The Moon up as well fairly soon too, though I can't make any promises.
